Shortly before 1.00pm on 08.10.2024, we reached Amalfi - known for its rugged cliffs, turquoise waters and panoramic views. The coastline's winding roads offer breathtaking views over the Tyrrhenian Sea.

Lunch was on our own. We had earlier decided to look out for the paper wrapped takeaway fried seafood which we enjoyed very much in Siracusa during our 2018 tour of Italy (Read here). We found it sold at one outlet called Kuott Pizza Bugger & Fry. In the end, this was far from what we tasted in Siracusa in 2018!

In the end, it's the fresh orange juice and the gelato that we purchased from Gelateria Al Corso that saved the day!

Crowd was massive in the open square or Piazza St. Andrew's del Duomo just below the long flight of steps leading to Cathedral of St. Andrew Apostle. Suddenly, we heard shots and uproar from the crowd. A man was seen in a kneeling posture proposing to his girlfriend. We discovered later from conversation with some of their members that they were from Indonesia. Indeed, a bold and great effort by the man to demonstrate his love to his future wife!

Seeing people taking water from the fountain in Saint Andrew's fountain Piazza del Duomo in Amalfi, we too joined the queue. But some of our tour lady members found it "uncomfortable" to take water discharged from the nibble of a statute and declined to follow the queue when asked to. Did we drink it? Definitely No:). This was done just for the fund of it!
