With the "romantic" Danube that we have been subtlely programmed into our mind, a cruise in this river should have been an experience that arouses excitement and bewilderment. Yet, as it turned out, this was not the case as I had expected. We couldn't figure out the reasons why the tour operator opted for a cruise in River Danube in Budapest, Hungary rather than in Vienna, Austria.
The cruise can be summed up as a visual experience of the architecture of Budapest, both past and present. Because of the flat terrain, there was minimal visual of greenery and hilly landscape.

We caught a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty at the top of Gellert Hill. It would have been ideal if time has been given to get on top of Gellert Hill to see this statue and to have a panoramic view of some of the iconic buildings in Budapest.
