Gambino Vini

After the visit to Mount Etna, we proceeded to our next destination - a winery for lunch. The route from Mt. Etna to the winery is winding through hilly terrain. But the occasional discomfort was compensated by picturesque landscape.

Upon disembarking from our van at the car park of the winery, I was surprised to be greeted with a signboard which reads "Gambino Vini". Instantly, the Gambino crime family came to mind. Is this Gambino related to the New Yorker Gambino Mafia of the nineties? Well, I couldn't be sure whether there is this remote possibility that this Gambino is related to the New Yorker. This Gambino is in the business of making wine of the highest quality, so they claim.

The winery perched at the eastern side of Mt. Etna
overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Every bottle of the wine was served with detailed explanation by the staff on its taste and special characteristics.

The lunch package comes with a guided tour of the wine making process.
