Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, an unmanned lighthouse still in operation since 23 December 1920. It's a brick-built structure towering 11 m high with a base of 3 m diameter. It's powered by solar energy and is known as the "Lighthouse at the End of the World" to the Argentinians.

The highlight of this ferry tour was looking at the Magellanic penguins at Isla Martillo, an island inhabited with huge colonies of these penguins. These penguins with a typical white band at the upper part of their torsos is the close relatives of the black-footed penguins which we saw in South Africa (Read here). The Magellanic penguins grow to typical height of 60 cm to 75 cm, much bigger than the blue penguin we saw in Tasmania (Read here) which is just 25 cm to 30 cm tall.
