I once stayed at the Palace of the Golden Horses in Kuala Lumpur many years ago, a hotel often celebrated for its grandeur and distinctive design.
On 29 May 2013, I had the opportunity to experience another iconic property - the Palace of the Lost City in Sun City, South Africa. Many have alleged that the architectural style and concept of the Palace of the Golden Horses were inspired by the Palace of the Lost City, which is renowned for its opulence, mythical African theme, and elaborate detailing.

The tour guide reminded us to have a close look at this wooden table at the entrance hall of the hotel built at a cost of US$1.0m in the late 70's.
Dome is covered with panels of "leaves".
Wow... Looks so obvious that the design of the palace of the golden horses was taken from palace of the lost city
ReplyDeleteI was told by the local tour guide that the Sun International, owner of Sun City did file a legal suit against owner of the Palace of the Golden Horses. Somehow, they lost the case.
ReplyDeletei suppose one is a lost city and the other one is about horses. very hard to claim the design was plagiarised.
