Gold Reef City, Johannesburg

Gold Reef City is an amusement park which was at one time a gold mine. This was made a theme park after gold mining was found no longer economically viable. Now, the owner makes money from two sources: tourists who come to visit the disused mine shaft and visitors who come to enjoy the amusement facilities. Read here for more.

Male and female are required to enter  through separate entrances.
We reached a depth of 225m. The deepest point is 3,060m.

They too have a gold bar making demonstration similar to the Sovereign Hill, Balarat, Australia. The difference is that visitors are allowed to touch and hold the gold bar here!
