Our stay in Cape Town concluded with a memorable dinner at one of the city’s few Chinese restaurants, where each of us was served a full abalone - a rare and luxurious treat.
The restaurant’s owner, a first-generation Chinese immigrant from Fujian, China, personally welcomed us and shared his story with great pride. The coat he wore was adorned with badges and mementos - tokens from tour groups and travelers from around the world who had dined at his establishment.
