Lunch at "Bathhouse Attendants" in St. Petersburg

After visiting the Winter Palace and the Hermitage Museum on 18.09.2025 - our final day in Russia before heading to the airport, we were taken to a restaurant for lunch. The outlet has an interesting name called “Bathhouse Attendants” when translated into English.

The restaurant specializes in traditional Russian cuisine with a modern touch. Soon after we were seated, a basket of freshly baked bread and butter was served. This was followed by three appetizers.

One was the Salmon Carpaccio with Caviar, featuring thin slices of fresh salmon topped with salmon roe, light mayonnaise, pickled onions, fresh dill, and a delicate oil dressing. Another was the Salmon “Olivier”-Style Salad with Caviar, a version of Russia’s classic mayonnaise salad. Made with flaked salmon, potatoes, carrots, pickles and boiled eggs, and topped with caviar and dill.

For my main course, I had pre-ordered the glazed pork ribs, grilled to a deep, glossy finish. The meat was tender, accompanied by a fresh coleslaw-style salad. For my wife, she had ordered grilled pork chop. This was served with mashed potatoes, sautéed vegetables and creamy brown pepper sauce.

Main Course - Grilled Pork Chop.
For dessert, it's a creative chocolate dish resembling small “stones” resting on crumbly “soil”. Overall, this restaurant delivered a satisfying blend of atmosphere, authenticity, and carefully prepared dishes, making it a memorable end of our tour of Saint Petersburg.
