Another Happy Time in Shangri-La Rasa Ria

Taking advantage of the early arrival of 2025 CNY at the end of January 2025, Serene's family decided to spend the CNY in her original home town in Sabah. Her family spent a couple of days in Singapore before flying in to KK on 22.01.2025.

The second day after Serene's family came back, we checked into Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort on 23.01.2025 for a 3D2N stay. We had earlier stayed in this Resort when Sam's family came back for a short holidays in March last year (Read here). Beside its proximity from our home (less than an hour drive), it literally has all the amenities and recreational facilities that cater for adults, teenagers and young children. We found this Resort to be an ideal place to get away from hectic city routine and to chill-out and to spend time together with close family members. 

Recognizing that Nathan is now a Year 9 (Form 3) young teenager, we decided to book a separate adjoining room for him together with his younger sister, Grace. We could sense that they were really happy to be granted such honour and privilege.

Throughout the stay at the Resort, swimming at the resort pool was one activity that Nathan and Grace enjoyed doing most.

Having breakfast at the Coffee Terrace was another enjoyable time for us. Similar to our previous experience in our previous dining at the open terrace, the huge flocks of little birds hovering around and looking for unattended food continued to be both a nuisance as well as a source of fun for young children!

This time , we decided to have room service or in-room dining for our dinner instead of eating at the hotel restaurant or at nearby restaurant. Gracie and Nathan truly enjoyed such experience!

The next evening, we had in-room dining again, this time without the parents of the grandchildren!

Story studio which started as story telling has been a tradition of bonding time between grandparents and grandchildren ever since Nathan and Grace could appreciate story telling (Read here). Even in our stay at the resort just before bed time, this tradition was maintained!

We visited the wedding pavilion where Paul and Junshi had their garden wedding way back in July 2015, i.e. nine and a half years ago. Nathan was the page boy while Grace was the flower girl in that occasion (Read here).
