I remember Perth's unique skyline in that there is not a tinny-winy bit of cloud to add character to its sky. This phenomenon is probably because of the timing of my visit when it was not rainy season then.
In fact, I wonder whether one can tell the location merely by looking at the skyline ?

The following skylines were shot at six locations: KK, Perth, Newcastle, Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore. Can you tell which is which ?

OK, I'll start the guessing game first:
1st one is KK
2nd one is Sydney
3rd one is Singapore
4th one is KK
5th one is Melbourne
6th one is Newcastle
No idea how I performed... look forward to seeing other guesses and the results!
Sorry 1st one is Perth.
1st one is KK, judging from the island around the horizon, I'm guessing this picture was taken near the port.
2nd, should be Perth, because of the windmill, I can't imagine seeing any windmills in Malaysia/Singapore. Plus the last two pictures had cityscape on it.
3rd, I think it's Newcastle. The view looks like it was taken by the seaside at the city. Somewhere near Nobby's.
4th should be Melb, cause it has nice railings...Melb is all about aesthetics...
5th...Sydney, looks like a fairly dense area...but probably taken at the outskirts...
Final one is Singapore, cause it looks very dense, plus the width of the building suggest that it might be HDB flats
oh...i think i'm swapping 4 and 5 around...cause i don't remember seeing such a nice view of the ocean in Melb...they have very crappy view of the sea...
ok, my answer is:
1st - KK cos of the 'pulau' in the distance
2nd - Melbourne, which is the last one to be assigned
3rd - Newcastle, i think i vaguely remember seeing this during my visit there
4th - Perth, there's no mistake about this one, the skyline is quite distinct but i can't remember where i've seen this railings, king park?
5th - Sydney, it must be as it's no singapore
6th - Singapore, definitely cos of the hdb building with antenna at the roof even though the sun is blinding us with shadows
Amazing ! MH scored 100% right. Paul came very close. His first trial was 4 out of 6.
I thought it would be difficult to guess a location based on skyline. Somehow, I was proven wrong and brain power and analytical mind won the day. Up up Engineers !
